Yishay Joined the IET in September 2011. His most recent role was at the Technologies in Education Graduate Program, at the The Department of Learning, Instruction and Teacher Education, University of Haifa, where he taught courses in mobile learning and game-based learning and co-ordinated the special masters' course "Digital Cities: Technology, Leadership, and Education". Before that, he was a researcher at the London Knowledge Lab, and before that - a software team leader at Cisco systems.
Yishay combines a background in computer science with a design perspective on educational research, practice, and professional development. His PhD thesis "A Design Approach to Research in Technology Enhanced Mathematics Education" won the 2011 TELEARC award for PhD excellence. Yishay's previous research has explored methodologies for formulating and sharing design knowledge in education. He has developed and applied these methodolgies through investigations in game-based learning in mathematics education and mobile learning for development. He currently leads the "learning design grid" theme team of the STELLAR network of excellence.
