This seminar will showcase how innovative research methodologies, in particular crowdsourcing and learning analytics are used to evaluate and improve technology-enhanced learning across settings. Four projects will be discussed: mEvaluate examines the impact of mobile applications on the development of young children. LEARN CitSci seeks to design engaging citizen science experiences specifically for youth. Early Alerts Indicators aims to enhance online learning in higher education through the use of predictive analytics. Tomorrow’s World nQuire focuses on educating the general public in scientific thinking through participation in large-scale, citizen science experiments. These projects examine self-regulated learning across settings - formal and informal, and age populations - young children to adults.
