About
My name is Sagun Shrestha and I did my PhD on affordances of ICT in education in secondary school settings during the crisis contexts from Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland and I earned Masters in ELT (Specialism in ICT) from the University of Warwick, UK and Masters in English Education from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. My research focuses on issues of educational technology, such as affordances of ICT, retention in online courses, machinima as a teaching learning material, and inter alia. I have published several articles in the area of ICT in education in top-quartile journals and edited a few books related to teacher education.
Biography
Dr. Sagun Shrestha is a research associate at the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK. In 2016 and 2017, he served as a founding editorial member of The Warwick ELT ezine, which promotes informed discussion of developments in ELT and draws attention to research and innovative practices related to English language learning and teaching and teacher education. He also served as an editor-in-chief of NELTA ELT Forum the official ezine of Nepal English Language Teachers' Association (NELTA) between 2017 and 2020. In 2021, He served as a reviewer of International Journal of Distance Education Technologies (IJDET), a peer-reviewed journal published by IJI Global and the Journal of NELTA, a peer-reviewed journal published by the Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association. He also contributed as an expert evaluator of the abstracts of the dissertations (2020) in British Council’s Master’s Dissertation Award Scheme in which I ranked the abstracts and gave feedback.
He has also served as a reviewer of Journal of NELTA Gandaki, a peer-reviewed Journal (JoNG), published by the Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association Gandaki Province, Pokhara, Nepal in 2019 and of Nepalese Translation Volume 3, published by Society of Translators, Nepal in 2018. I also contributed as a co-editor of Saishik Smarika, the magazine published by the Government of Nepal, Center for Educational and Human Resource Development, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur in 2018. When he was working in GEMS, one of the A-graded schools in Nepal, he served as an Editor-in-chief of The GEM, the annual magazine (souvenir) published by Graded Medium English School (GEMS), Lalitpur, Nepal.
